About the Talking News

Scarborough Talking News is a registered charity, which produces a weekly tape of news taken from the local papers. Anyone who is unable to read a newspaper due to sight problems or other disability can receive the Talking News.

Scarborough Talking News has about 70 volunteers who all give their time freely to produce the news tape and work

from Allatt House in Scarborough which houses a number of charities.

Scarborough Talking News relies totally on donations from the public and businesses. They hold fundraising events

during the year to raise funds for the Talking News. These range from coffee mornings to tombolas and also a

garden party.

If you know of anyone who may benefit from their service or if you are local to Scarborough and would like to be a

volunteer, please contact:
