WHEN the worldwide recession is over and the economy of the country recovers, local house building will probably be quickly resumed.
Will the recent planning decision taken be for the benefit of the town of Filey and its inhabitants or not?

Ian Fenby in his interview with the Mercury reporter pointed out many objections to the proposed building of houses on land between the rear of Wooldale Drive and Filey Country Park.

For example, for the six- month period that the caravan park is open many cars, touring caravans enter or leave by a narrow road especially at weekends, bank holidays and in the peak summer season.

Can we be sure that cars can safely leave the houses without undue delay or danger? In addition, we have just been told by a government minister that British farmers should increase food production to cope with increasing national population.

How can they do this if the planners keep taking good agricultural land away from them for housing?
