BRIAN Bennett, Scarborough Council's head of tourism, is looking to close more toilets. Doesn't he know toilets are a much-needed necessity in life not a luxury, and Filey is in need of toilets near Crescent Gardens?
And how ludicrous that we have a visitor centre without any public toilets. It beggars belief when so many visitors old and young come to Filey.

It’s the elderly who enjoy the gardens and listening to the band and Glen Gardens are a long walk.

Congratulations to the woman councillor for getting the toilets at the bus station to stay open longer. Could she fight for toilets at the visitor centre please?

Perhaps a few male councillors would give their support. Maybe women need the facility more than men?

Mrs Elaine Coates
