Re: Planning permission application for Crown development.
Your article (Planning experts back homes bid, Mercury, December 12) requested local comments.

I was informed on Thursday morning via a message on my answer phone from Hugh Smith of Scarborough planning office that the planning meeting was to take place that day at 1pm, thus ensuring I could not be present.

Despite requesting permission to speak, this was denied, even though I had pointed out that both the original and amended application documents contained erroneous data.

Even worse, the amended submission bore the same front page and reference number and the same final page and date, together with completely new insertions of the hitherto unseen data.

Thus the document when viewed as a complete finished item gives the impression it is the original.

I am as disappointed as anyone that Old Filey should be desecrated but will certainly ensure that no councillor who did not specifically vote against this will ever get my vote again.
