SCARBOROUGH Library and Information Centre provided the unlikely setting for a Dalek invasion.
The notorious Doctor Who villain was allowed into the junior area of the Vernon Road library by brave members of staff as part of a national reading promotion on Saturday.

Luckily, he chose not to "exterminate" any of the hundreds of people who flocked to the event.

Lee Taylor, principal officer at the library, said: "It was a tremendously successful event, which brought in people of all ages. We are delighted."
