STAFF working for CE Electric, which provides thousands of homes and businesses in the Filey area with electricity, have begun industrial action.
The workers belong to the union Unite and are employed at Northern Electric Distribution Limited and Yorkshire Electricity Distribution, which are owned by CE Electric. They have decided to ban overtime and withdraw standby cover indefinitely unless a dispute over pay can be resolved.

CE Electric UK is responsible for delivering electricity to over 3.7 million homes across the North East of England, Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

Of the 1,100 staff, 95 per cent voted in favour of industrial action after rejecting a 3.8 per cent pay increase.
