THE kids were alright at a musical extravaganza held at Filey Library.
Local musician Philip Parker provided the accompaniment to the "bounce and rhyme" library session, which was one of several events held at the venue to coincide with Filey Festival.

The day gave children the chance to explore the joy of sound and experience stories being told with music.

Other events to take place at the library throughout the week included a treasure hunt which allowed youngsters to take part in Filey library's own discovery trail.

Adults were catered for as well with a special talk by local historian Michael Fearon, who brought back memories of Filey's Butlins holiday camp.

There was also an opportunity to meet top thriller writer RJ Ellory on Thursday evening. Ellory was selected for the Richard and Judy book club in 2007 and was also nominated for the CWA Steel Dagger award for the best thriller of 2006.
