FIRE crews from Filey and Scarborough were called to a fire in a storage cupboard at a home in Ash Grove, Filey, on Monday afternoon.
The fire, which started when an unshaded light bulb heated up a pile of papers, caused minor damage to the interior, with some smoke damage to the kitchen.

Firefighters were also called to Filey School in Muston Road after two pupils were stuck in a lift.

They had already been released by an engineer by the time the fire service arrived.

Fire crews were called out to a skip fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately, in Southdene, Filey.
