TWO Filey groups have received a cash boost thanks to those who took part last year's Filey Bay 10K run.
Cheques for £354.28 were handed to representatives from the RNLI and Filey Decorative Lighting Fund.
A share of the £1,500 race proceeds has also been given to St Catherine's Hospice and some will also go towards Help for Heroes.
Filey 10K organiser and Evron Centre manager Nick Butterworth said: "We're really pleased with the amount raised, especially considering the weather on the day.
"We had 146 entries and 106 people ran it in driving wind and rain, which was unbelievable. It was more of an endurance race than a 10K run!"
This year's race will take place on Sunday September 26, starting at 10.30am.
