TICKETS are now on sale for the Mayor's Emerald Ball to be held at The Royal Hotel in Scarborough on March 19.
Seen by many as one of the highlights of the area’s social calendar, the annual gala dinner will be hosted by the Mayor and the Mayoress of the Borough of Scarborough, Cllr Bill Chatt and Mrs Michelle Chatt, in association with the Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers.

The evening’s entertainment will include a three-course dinner, a disco, a raffle and auction. This year, in keeping with the theme, Bond Jewellers of Huntriss Row, Scarborough, has donated an emerald necklace and earring set as the main auction prize.

All proceeds will go to the Mayoress’ Community Fund, which benefits groups and organisations throughout the borough, including Filey.

Cllr Chatt said: “Myself and Michelle are really looking forward to hosting this year’s event. We have been helping to plan the dinner for the last few months and it’s set to be a ball!

“It was Michelle’s idea to have an emerald theme as it will be held so close to St Patrick’s Day and we thought it would make it that extra little bit special for those attending.”

For information or to buy a ticket, contact Irene Webster at Scarborough Council on (01723) 232311 or e-mail irene.webster@ scarborough.gov.uk
