Agent set for closure of premises

A FILEY estate agents has closed its office in the town.

CPH Property Services, in West Avenue, has left Filey after nearly 11 years following an internal re-organisation.

The move will not bring any redundancies as the two staff members in Filey will be transferred to the company’s Scarborough branch in the new year.

The company told The Mercury in a statement: “The partners David Chapman and David Hastie have reluctantly decided to close the office.

“They have carried out a comprehensive review of the property services they wish to offer in the future and how this can be best achieved.

“This process will ensure that they continue to provide the high level professional standards and customer service while meeting the changing needs of the local market place.

“As part of this process, Joe Walker joined the team about a year ago, as a qualified chartered surveyor, and this has resulted in the expansion of both the commercial department and professional valuation work undertaken despite the depressed market conditions.

“The residential lettings department continues to expand, under the management of Bev Brammer, as landlord clients appreciate the help and advice available.

“Both partners are confident that this change will result in an even better property service in the Scarborough area.”
