THE site of a former Filey Old Town pub continues to evolve with new accomodation on the site rising from the foundations.

Contractors are continuing to renovate the old Crown Hotel, in Queen Street, with eight two bedroom apartments now clearly visible.

All of the properties will be available for renting.

The development, which started earlier this year, previously brought fears from Filey Town Council and residents over its potential appearance in a conservation area.

However, the plans were passed after owners of the site, Accent Group, provided assurances over the buildings’ height and safeguarding of a Victorian post box.

The apartments will also be finished in white render, and roof tiles, many of which have been reclaimed from the old pub, will be grey slate.
