FILEY’S history as a magnet for tourists is set to be remembered on the small screen.
The town’s Evron Centre will be showing the film, Holiday Camp, later this month, celebrating the great, old fashioned Butlins British seaside retreat.
The film, made in 1947 by famous director Ken Annakin, is set in Filey’s old Butlins camp and follows the Hugget family as they come face to face with murderers, crooked card sharks and missing teenagers.
The screening will also feature short pieces on local scenes and will be introduced by film expert Roy Stafford.
The film will be shown at 7pm on Friday, September 23.
