The Friends of Filey Parks have launched a new questionnaire aimed at getting invaluable feedback about the town’s green spaces.

The project has come about after discussions with Scarborough Council’s parks and countryside department.

Committee member Catherine Welch explained; “We look after the Glen and Crescent Gardens and we want to ask people what they like about the area - their favourite bits and worst bits.

“The whole point is to find out what the public think about the gardens and to see if they can be improved.”

The questionnaires are available now and will be out until Christmas. You can pick up a copy from the Tourist Information Centre, the library or the council chambers in Queen Street.

Catherine said: “We do get the odd complaint about a certain kind of dog owner who doesn’t pick up after their dog.

“But we get lots of positive comments too. If people do have any concerns, if they raise them we can try and do something about it.

“But if people don’t, we won’t know and won’t know how we can improve things.”

Catherine added that the questionnaire are nice and simple to complete and have just 19 questions, ranging from your opinions on the parks to how and when you prefer to use them.
