A POPULAR Hunmanby pub has appointed a new management team.
Stevan Kilcommons and Shirley Moran have taken over the running of the pub following the retirement of its previous landlords.
Both of them were working at the pub previously, and they were chosen because of their knowledge of the pub and popularity with the clientele.
They took over the running of the pub on October 6, and Mr Kilcommons is thrilled with their start.
He said: “Things are going really well, everybody at the pub seems happy that we are running it.
“It’s probably not the best time of the year to take over a pub, with the season finishing.
“However, business isn’t down.
“In fact if anything it’s probably up.
“Pubs are not doing that well at this time of year, but I think we are really bucking the trend.”
Mr Kilcommons said any worries that a change at the top would mean an overhaul of the pub are unfounded.
He added: “My motto is, if it’s not broke, then don’t fix it.”
He has stated that he does have plans to host five charity nights by the end of the year.
They will include a race night as a well as a number of party nights.
