A FILEY couple enjoyed a champagne moment after toasting their 21st anniversary of business in the town.
Tony and Diane Rhoden, who run the Hylands Retirement Home, in The Crescent, moved to Filey on February 8, 1990, from Northamptonshire.
The couple said they have thoroughly enjoyed their experiences by the seaside and had forged strong bonds with many visitors and people in the local community during that period.
Mrs Rhoden said: “During our time we have celebrated many 100th birthdays and a number of Diamond wedding anniversaries which have all been marked with parties and telegrams from The Queen.
“Whilst many changes have occurred during our time here, both to improve the facilities and to comply with legislation, we are both pleased and privileged to have many of the original staff as part of the current team and we would like to thank them for providing such an excellent service.
“The changes have included structural alterations as well as replacing the roof, fire alarm and emergency call systems and our most recent addition has been computers to allow clients to access the internet.
“We would also like to thank the local doctor’s, their district nurses and surgery team, as they along with the local suppliers we use allow us to maintain our high standards.
