FILEY police have reassured residents on their safety after a murder suspect was arrested in the town’s library.
Graeme Jarman was apprehended by police last week after the murder of 77-year-old Judith Richardson, from Hexham, last month.
His arrest caused worry among residents. However, Insp Leo Suret said: “People like Graeme Jarman, who commit such crimes, are very few and far between.
“They receive a lot of publicity which stirs up people’s concerns and emotions but for someone like him to be in Filey is very rare indeed.”
