The Convent of the Sacred Heart of Filey Old Girls’ Association marks its 47th reunion this weekend at the school’s former ground.
Now the Evron Centre, the venue will host the annual event which is set to attract around 50 past pupils who once attended the convent.
A series of events will take place this Sunday, April 7 to mark the occasion.
It starts with two commemorative services at St Mary’s Church, Filey - see church notice boards for details - and at St Oswald’s Church at 10.30am.
The Evron Centre will host a coffee morning from 10am to which all past pupils are welcome to attend.
This will be followed by the AGM, starting at approximately 11.30-12pm and lasting for around an hour, to which non-members are also invited to sit in on.
The reunion will feature the unveiling of a special plaque in the garden in Nun’s Walk, with a description of its original use as the ‘nuns’ grotto’.
The group will then make its way to the White Lodge for lunch.
Although the venue is fully booked for the dining service, visitors are welcome to join the group for drinks.
A spokesperson for the group said: “We’re still going strong and we have no intention of stopping whilst other people want to come.
“Considering the school closed in 1966, it’s still very rewarding that we have people coming along and wanting to be part of the organisation.”
Past pupils who are interested in joining the organisation, or who would like details of the next reunion can contact a committee member on (01723) 850918 for further details.
