Jail and five-year ban for learner driver: court list

The following people have been dealt with at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court (addresses Scarborough unless stated):

Tony David Martin, 21, of Kealia Court, Wooler Street: jailed for 36 weeks, plus £140 costs, and banned from driving for 60 months and 56 days, for two charges of dangerous driving (in James Street and Newlands Park Drive), two charges of driving while a provisional licence holder unaccompanied and without L plates, two charges of driving without valid insurance, possessing cannabis, and two charges of failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by a police officer.

Ryan Joseph Bentley, 19, of Castle Road: discharged conditionally for 12 months, plus £100 costs, for possessing cannabis resin.

Dayne Matthew Joshua Burton, 26, of no fixed abode: variation of community order with addition of 10 hours’ unpaid work over 12 months, plus £40 costs, for failing to comply with unpaid work requirement of community order.

Neil Blake, 34, of Queen Street: discharged conditionally for six months, plus £116 compensation, for theft of £96 packs of razors and a £20 grooming set from Wilkinsons and possessing cannabis.

Noel Reggie Craske, 44, of Hoxton Road: fined £215 plus £115 costs and banned from driving for one year, for drink-driving.

Grzegorz Rownicki, 30, of Castle Road: fined £120 plus £115 costs for failing to stop after causing damage in a vehicle to property in Foreshore Road, and driving without due care and attention in Foreshore Road.

Tracey Fairburn, 50, of Griff Farm, Helmsley: community order made, including rehabilitation activity requirement for maximum of 15 days, fined £200 plus £170 costs and banned from driving for 42 months, for drink-driving.

Sally Shepherd, 23, of Hawthorn Avenue, Malton: variation of community order with addition of 20 hours’ unpaid work over 12 months, plus £40 costs, for failing to comply with unpaid work requirement of community order.

Trustees of Danby Moor Settlement, c/o the Estate Office, Wykeham: fined £2,250 plus £4,606.72 costs for failing to take measures to prevent injury to flankers on a driven grouse shoot, after one such person received an eye injury.

Laura Elizabeth Griffiths, 29, of The Maltings, Malton: discharged conditionally for one year, plus £260 compensation, for damaging a Range Rover to the value of £565.

Mark Anthony Kay, 43, of Westbourne Grove: community order made, including eight-week curfew from 3pm-8pm, plus £85 costs, for theft of cosmetics worth £33.93 from TK Maxx and breaching a conditional discharge imposed for thefts of wine from Co-op Stores.

Kieron Philip Shepherd, 22, of Commercial Street, Norton: community order made, including 16-week curfew from 4pm-midnight, fined £20 plus £36.33 compensation, for possessing cannabis, stealing £36.30 of meat from Sainsbury’s in Malton and breaching a suspended sentence.

Justin Anthony Walker, 44, of Yorkersgate, Malton: fined £40 plus £30 costs for possessing 15 tablets of Alprazolam, a class C controlled drug.

Paul David Craine, 48, of North Marine Road: jailed for 20 weeks suspended for 12 months, including treatment for drug dependency for 12 months and rehabilitation activity requirement, plus £13 compensation and £115 costs for theft of £34.85 cosmetics from Sainsbury’s in Scarborough, possessing cannabis, theft of meat from Proudfoots, theft of meat from Sainsbury’s and breaching a community order imposed for thefts of £29.73 of meat from Marks & Spencer, £60 of Champagne from Sainsbury’s and £60 of Champagne from Tesco.
