A FEARLESS Filey teenager has completed a challenging charity run to raise more than £500 for charity.

Joe Eblet, 16, took part in a gruelling 250 mile trek from Wootton Bassett, in Wiltshire, back to Filey for armed forces charity Help for Heroes.

Joe, a former Sea Cadet and FC Filey player, carried out his epic adventure alongside his father Michael, and said the run was “good practice” for when he joins the Royal Marines later this month.

The ex-Filey School pupil said he was inspired to do the run after watching a documentary about the Wiltshire town and its role in the repatriation of UK troops killed on active service in Afghanistan.

He added he would like to thank his father for completing the run with him, cousin Lee Eblet for organising sponsorship details and Eddie Temple, of Filey Sea Cadets, for his help and support in making the challenge a great success.
