Serious injury may await either a young child or an adult, by Scarborough council’s lack of general maintenance.

Scarborough’s fantastic scenic views of the North Bay, its coastline, the castle in the back ground, alongside its clean North Bay sandy beach and a safe clean sea to swim in, hides a hidden deadly danger in plain view.

Visitors and residents are in danger as they travel along one of Scarborough’s best known walks, towards Scalby Mills, the river outlet and Sea Life.

With no safety railings for over 600ft and a straight drop in places of over 9ft, you are, unlikely to walk away from without injury.

Part of the North Bay with black safety railings have suffered dismally over the years. Allowed to rot and rust by the salt sea water and damaged by winter weather, they have slowly been taken down, leaving nothing in its place, but a frightening drop.

When will we see adequate and proper safety railings installed, that will safe-guard visitors, residents and children?
