Charity gets a big boost

A CHARITY which has covered the Filey area for more than 25 years is celebrating after a £170,000 makeover of its headquarters.

Dial a Ride, based in Scarborough, provides door-to-door transport for retired residents in the Filey and Hunmanby area who are disabled or ?nd it hard to get out.

Filey Mayor Sam Cross, who attended the opening, said he was delighted with the building and the charity's work.

He said: "The service from Dial a Ride is really good and I would encourage people in Filey and Hunmanby to make contact with them because the volunteers really do an excellent job."

Dial a Ride manager Julie Banks added: "What we've achieved is a credit to everybody, we are incredibly proud and couldn't have done it without the volunteers."
