At least one person has been injured after a car was struck by a passenger train this morning.
The incident was reported to British Transport Police and North Yorkshire Police at about 9.15am on the line at the Ivy Lea rail crossing at Scampston, near Malton.
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said emergency services were currently at the scene.
She said: “BTP are currently dealing with an incident at Ivy Lea rail crossing in Scampston near Malton following a report at 9.16 that a vehicle had been struck by a passenger service at the crossing.
“BTP officers are currently at the scene alongside colleagues from North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service.
“The driver of the vehicle is currently receiving medical treatment at the scene.
“Further details will be provided in due course.”
