The chief executive of Scarborough Rugby Club has spoke out after the club lost its long-running noise battle with the council.

In a statement to club members this week, Graeme Young said the jingle wrangle had been “a draining and demoralising process”, adding the Silver Royd club is unlikely to throw any more cash at fighting the case.

Last week, it emerged the club had lost its appeal against the authority over the right to play outside music at events, including the children’s rugby club festival.
