Tots in Filey have enjoyed a “Toddler Heaven” get-together at St John’s Church in Filey.

Every Wednesday, the church hall is transformed with a brightly coloured 16ft obstacle course bouncy castle, a giant Wendy house with seating for four, a replica toy tool bench, three interactive kitchens, messy play, creative and sensory activities. Vicar’s wife Hazel Allington says: “Getting the place set up in time is always a challenge but we have lots of capable people supporting the group and it’s well worth the effort.

“Our toddler group certainly has a wow factor with lots to offer every personality type. I love to see the little ones busily engaged in activities, having fun, and determinedly exploring what we have to offer. Our daughter Grace, who is one and a half, joins in too. She loves it. I call her our chief toy tester.” Vicar Andrew said: “It’s rewarding to see so many children benefitting from the toys and space and to be welcoming so many new visitors. The expanded facilities and friendly atmosphere are attracting around fifty babies and children each week.” The group is on from 9.30am to 11am and entry is £1. Music with Kathy Seabrook once a month from 10am to 11am, additional £1 per child participating.
