Cash-strapped North Yorkshire County Council has rubber-stamped controversial bus cuts, which will see a “vital” service taken off Scarborough’s roads for good.

Despite thousands of signatories opposed to the plans, the authority approved proposals at County Hall to scale back or cut several Scarborough services from April, including the number 4 Ramshill town service.

Steve Siddons is the Ramshill ward councillor who has opposed the plans since they were rolled out to public consultation, and is concerned that the authority’s decision to OK the cuts will have a “devastating” effect on residents.
