A decorated military hero, who lost both of his legs in a landmine explosion in Afghanistan, will talk to guests at a glitzy fundraising evening in Scarborough.
Cpl Andy Reid, who also lost an arm in the 2009 blast, has been confirmed as the after-dinner speaker at the annual A Night Before The Colours military event next month.
The formal affair, to be held at the Scarborough Spa on Friday November 8, will feature a packed programme of music, fireworks and speeches, with a lavish five-course meal as the centrepiece of the event.
An auction of prizes that “money can’t buy” will also be held, where guests can bid for once-in-a-lifetime experiences, such as a meal and behind-closed-doors tour of the Tower of London from the former head of the army General Lord Dannat.
A VIP tour of RAF Fylingdales is also on offer.
A glow-in-the-dark drumming display is also confirmed for the event.
Organisers have also promised a sparkling firework display at the bash, which is raising money for a variety of military and local charities.
