New look is on the way!

FILEY town crier David Bull usually cuts a fine dash with his trademark moustache - but he will soon be looking equally as dashing in some new threads!

Town clerk Gina Robinson confirmed Mr Bull will receive new blue and gold attire to carry out his duties next year.

The new regalia will be put together by students from Yorkshire Coast College, who were alerted to the work by cllr Marion Wright.

Mrs Robinson said: “The students have really got behind it and it just reflects how much our crier is valued.”

l COUNCILLORS have also backed a new campaign to save a historic railway line.

Members of Filey Town Council unanimously agreed to send a letter of support to the Skipton East Lancashire Railway Action Partnership.

The campaign has already attracted backing from film director Ken Loach and satirical editor and broadcaster Ian Hislop.
