FILEY’S retail sector has received a boost after the extension of a popular town centre shop.

St Catherine’s Hospice, in John Street, has opened its doors for customers to bag a bargain in larger surroundings after taking over the outlet next door.

A new Gift Aid scheme has been launched by St Catherines Hospice and it will be employed at the new Filey store. Pictured are Chairman Ian Westmoreland who is pictured with shop manager Linda Moore showing off the card.Picture Dave Kettlewell. 112881'15/07/11

The extended shop was officially opened by the hospice’s Chairman of Trustees, Ian Westmoreland, and shop manager, Linda Moore, and will sell small furniture, electrical items and men’s and women’s vintage clothing as well as its usual items.

Mrs Moore said: “It is wonderful to have more space and to be able to offer some different things to our customers.

“Filey’s shoppers are very generous and very good supporters of the shop and we look forward to welcoming them to our bigger, better shop.”

The shop is now also offering Gift Aid donations meaning an extra 25 pence in the pound for the hospice when donors agree to give the contribution.
