Members of Filey Ladies Monday Club met up at Filey Golf Club to enjoy their annual dining-out evening, which was, as usual, a delightful experience.
All business was abandoned so that members can socialise as they wait to be served with the delicious supper, rather than prepare it themselves.
The first meeting of April welcomed Alison Ainsbury to speak about the Carers Services, but before that there were a few notices to be discussed.
Alison spoke about the forming of the National Carers Trust, her involvement with the local service based at Snainton, and how the staff are there to support carers with relevant advice and information.
She described a carer as one who gives time looking after someone who depends on another because they are ill, frail or disabled, and listed the way the service can help.
Alison answered the many questions from her audience and distributed useful leaflets before sharing refreshments and interesting anecdotes with the members.
The next meeting will be in the community centre on Monday 24 April at 7.45pm, with Side By Side with Bernie. There will be no club meeting on 17 April as it is Easter Monday.
