CAMPAIGNERS behind the fight to save a popular Hunmanby play area are set for a big tidy-up.
The Friends of Bowling Green Lane Park are holding a huge tidy of the facility on Saturday, October 29, to regenerate the park, which has previously been blighted by vandalism.
The event, part of the national Make a Difference Day, will allow people to show their support for the play area, with litter picking, graffiti removal, painting and a general clean-up on the agenda.
It is due to start at 9.30am.
The play area came into focus earlier this year after Hunmanby Parish Council threatened to close the park due to spiralling costs to repair vandalised equipment.
However, campaigners were given a lift when councillors agreed to work with concerned parents to try and find a solution for the retention of the park.
