FILEY residents are being invited for a spot of afternoon tea to find out about more about a major housing development in the town.

Coast and Country, who had plans for 300 new homes off Muston Road passed earlier this year, is holding the event in the Evron Centre on Tuesday, July 19 between 1pm and 4pm.

Staff will be on hand to chat to people about the £45 million scheme, which was named Mill Meadows after a competition by Filey Junior School pupils.

Iain Sim, Coast and Country Chief Executive, said: “By inviting residents to join us for afternoon tea, we will be creating a relaxed and informal atmosphere where people can meet and chat to our staff about Mill Meadows.

“Residents are at the very heart of everything we do and we always get the community involved in all our housing projects.

“This will be among a number of events that we will be holding to inform people living in Filey of how Mill Meadows is progressing.”

Work on the development is expected to start later this year.
