Voter appeal

VOTERS across Filey and Hunmanby have been urged to sign up to a new campaign.

Residents are being asked provide a fresh signature to ensure their vote counts in future ballots.

Voters who apply by post are required to provide a signature and date of birth, however, as people’s signatures change over time, Scarborough Council bosses have now asked for a handwritten update.

Forms for people who have had a postal, proxy or postal proxy vote since January 2007 will be sent a signature refresh form and have been urged to complete it and return it as soon as possible.

Residents who longer want to vote by post must tick the relevant box on the form before returning it.
