PLANS to improve a Reighton holiday park have been passed.
Bosses at Reighton Sands Holiday Park, in Reighton Gap, applied to upgrade its swimming pool and changing and shower areas and a new lazy-river and small spa outdoor attraction.
Scarborough Council planning officials backed the moves, which are hoped to be finished in time for next year’s summer tourist boom.
A report from Scarborough Council acknowledged potential impacts upon the landscape from the development, but said the changes would cause no aesthetical problems to the local area.
It added: “The principle of development within the open countryside and coastal zone is key as is the visual impact.
“However, the work will not detract from the appearance of the surrounding landscape or make the site more prominent within the open countryside.”
