PLANS have been unveiled to provide solar power for a Filey holiday attraction.
The Bay, off Moor Road, has applied to fit solar panels to 13 new holiday homes on its Seaford Avenue development.
The new properties were passed by Scarborough Council’s planning bosses in June, and the company behind the development have now applied for permission to incorporate roof panels in the overall design.
A report into the proposals said: “The solar panels will be most efficient if they are mounted on south facing roof slopes.
“If south facing roof slopes are not available, the roofs with the most southerly aspect have been chosen.
“As it is solely roof mounted, this development will have no impact on the landscape.
“The panels proposed are an in-roof system which is lower profile than panels which are commonly mounted on existing roofs.”
A decision on the plans will be made later this year.
