TEA and cakes were on the menu as Filey’s Marie Curie Cancer Care support group held their latest fundraiser.
An afternoon tea was held at Filey Community Centre, resulting in £200 being raised for the cause.
The event also featured a tombola, a raffle and stalls.
Beth Clegg, president of the Filey Marie Curie Cancer Care support group, said: “Unfortunately it rained very heavily just as we were about to get started so that may have put a few people off coming.
“It didn’t dampen the spirits of those who were there though, we all really enjoyed it.
“We had a proper afternoon tea with tea, sandwiches and cakes, and it was really nice to all get together.
“We were delighted to have raised £200 and would like to thank everyone who turned up on the day.” Since it was set up four years ago the support group has raised £26,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The group’s next fundraiser in on August 5 and 6 when members will be holding a collection at Filey’s Tesco store.
