GREEN-FINGERED enthusiasts in Reighton and Speeton are set to find our if their feast of flowers and foliage have scooped honours.

Judges from Scarborough Council’s environment group will descend upon the villages later this month to cast their eye over scores of entries in the second annual Best Kept Gardens competition.

Gardens, ranging from front and back residential spaces to youngsters’ efforts are all entered in the contest.

“We are a young Bloom group and this is just one of many projects that we hope to run to get people involved.”

The results will be announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, September 21, from 7pm in the village hall.

Everyone is welcome and refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
