X-Factor winners Little Mix are the latest act to be announced for Scarborough’s multi-million pound Open Air Theatre this summer.
The girl group will play the venue on Sunday July 27, with support from chart toppers Scouting For Girls.
The group are the seventh and likely penultimate act to be announced for the summer season, which this year is being solely booked by Scarborough Council.
Since winning the TV talent show, the four-piece has sold in excess of five million records.
Scarborough councillor David Chance said the announcement will hopefully create a “real buzz” among music fans.
And it will mean the town will possibly be packed over the weekend, with the Little Mix concert coming the day after Boyzone are due to play the outdoor venue.
And Welcome to Yorkshire Area Director, Janet Deacon, added: “Performing the day after Boyzone, Little Mix and Scouting For Girls will complete yet another bumper weekend for the Open Air Theatre and ensure that the Yorkshire coast is the place to be for first class live entertainment this summer.”
Other acts booked so far include Status Quo, Jessie J, McBusted and a Last Night of the Proms show, with the latter three concerts held over a four day period between June 25 and June 28.
Tickets for the Little Mix show cost £35 each exclusive of booking fees, and are on sale from 9am on Saturday March 1.
