TENNYSON Arms were competing in the fourth division and ended up in fourth place.
They were just six points off second place Team Plaxton at the end of the campaign.
Barrowcliff won the league and their 100 per cent performance was a record for the division at the time.”
Paddy Parke, who played for the side, said: “I have fond memories of playing in that Tennyson side and we had a laugh and were pals.
“That side stayed as Tennyson before going onto be the Golden Last and then the White Horse but most of the players stuck together despite us moving bases.”
