Scarborough Sixth Form College's basketball team travelled to face Hull College at the Gemtec Arena and came away with a 92-59 win.
The game started well for Scarborough, who had eight points on the scoreboard within the first couple of minutes.
Captain Jackson Ellis, forward James Stuart and most valuable player Zato Jaleco all scored six points apiece and Scarborough led 2
1-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The start of the second quarter saw Toby Lazim sit it out after his promotion to the starting five and Andrew Dunn taking to the floor, adding some experience to the team on court.
However, the quarter was not successful as Hull clawed their way back, led by ex-Scarborough Seahawk Miles Baldwin.
He scored some good points and hit the line twice to leave score 42-31 to the Sixth Form.
That led to coach Rob Barker making some changes, introducing Rob Stuart for his debut and senior player Rich Aljarrah taking to the floor for the first time in the game.
Both players added valuable extra pace to the team and it meant the fast break out was always on the cards.
It led the way to Jaleco scoring some good points after several steals to take the score to 62-47.
It was becoming obvious that Hull had run out of steam and had put on their weaker players, and the Scarborough lads were quick to take advantage.
Elliot Tennant led the way with some excellent defensive and offensive rebounds, and he was having a great game in his new role in the middle of the zone.
Thanks to the leadership of captain Ellis, Hull did not score after the fifth minute of the final quarter, leaving the Sixth Form winners by 92-59 to complete the team’s best performance of the season so far.
