FILEY School's Year Nine cricket team booked their place in the semi-finals of the Lord Taverners trophy with a six-wicket success against Hayfield of Doncaster.
A fine bowling performance from the Filey aces set up the victory and made sure of a home tie in the last four.

Hayfield were reduced to 79-7 from their 20 overs, with the due of Tom Micklethwaite (1-7) and Linden Gray (3-9) slowing their progress.

Filey looked to be in trouble at 29-4, but Aaron Howard’s unbeaten 30 and 12 not out from all-rounder Micklethwaite saw them home with six wickets and six overs to spare.

Head of sport Terry Ellis said: “We bowled and fielded superbly for their 20 overs and then we showed our batting strength to make sure of another impressive win.”
