THE Frank White Trophy will have a new winner this season following Tennyson's promotion from division three.
The competition is for clubs from the Evening News Saturday League’s bottom rung, and there are plenty of contenders for the silverware.

One of the most interesting clashes will be between Filey Spartans and Ryedale.

Both teams are new to the l
eague, though the majority of their players have plied their trade in the higher divisions in the past.

Another intreguing tie will be the Heslerton and Westover encounter.

Heslerton dropped out of the second division last term, so they will be looking to push on this time around. Westover will also be looking to push for a place in the second tier this season.

Eastfield Reserves will be hoping to make an impression when they take on Snainton Reserves in their first round tie.

There will be plenty of interest in this as both club’s first teams meet up in the League Cup first round.

There is a battle of the new clubs when Castle Tavern bid to gain ascendancy and a secon round place when they host West Pier Reserves.

Newlands Reserves will be another side with high aims when they start up their bid with a home game against Scalby Reserves.

Full draw: Newlands Park Res v Scalby Res, Heslerton v Westover, Ayton Res v Ganton, Ryedale v Filey Spartans, Castle tavern v West Pier Res, Eastfield Res v Snainton Res. Byes: Riskers, Seamer Res.
