ST GEORGE'S A were the big success at a mixed seven-a-side football competition held at George Pindar Community Sports College.
The tournament was organised by sixth form pupils from the college, including Anthony Hunter, Matthew Forsyth, Tom Fennel and Luke Purvis.

St George’s provided two teams while Overdale included three sides.

And it was St George’s A who ran out overall victors with Overdale A runners-up.

Organiser Anthony Hunter said: “We had to organise this tournament as part of our B-tech National Sports Course and it went very well.

“We were pleased with the teams who entered and they did very well.

“A special thanks goes to Morrisons supermarket for sponsoring refreshments for the youngsters while Mitch Cook provided all the necessary equipment including balls and bibs.”

Overdale’s Josh Lewis finished as tournament top scorer, bagging a total of eight goals.
