Heslerton kept in touch with the leaders thanks to a comfortable 64-run win against struggling Ebberston, while Kirkbymoorside’s title ambitions hit another obstacle with a seven-wicket home loss against Staithes.

In the fourth and final game in the top flight, Jake McAleese and Paul Woodhead shone with bat and ball as Cayton crushed Cloughton by 129 runs.

McAleese struck 67 and Woodhead weighed in with 44 as Cayton posted and they then took 3-23 and 3-4 respectively as Cayton were sent back to the pavilion for only 65 runs.

John Barton took 8-67 in Scalby’s home game against Seamer in division A, helping to dismiss them for just 147, but the hosts then slumped to 117 all out in reply.
