The Mavis Clayton Memorial Award, which was handed over by Mavis’ granddaughter Jay Sansom, is handed out to the outstanding winner from the selected junior winners on the night, and Mead’s efforts winning a league and cup double in her first season with Sunderland were enough to win her the prestigious award.

Thompson was honoured for his unrelenting work with Glaisdale Cricket Club when he was awarded the Service to Sport Award.

Thompson’s excellent work has resulted in him being invited to Headlingley by Yorkshire CCC and he is being considered for the 2012 Outstanding Services to Cricket Award.
