Scholes Park Raiders under-10s striker Chris Fenton turned on the style with a hat-trick in his side’s 6-0 home win against Phoenix.

The Raiders took the lead after only three minutes when Fenton was brought down in the penalty area, and dusted himself down before smashing the ball past the visiting keeper.

The lead was soon doubled, with skipper Elliot Woodall winning the ball in midfield, passing onto James Winter who in turn found Ethan Daley-Smith, and he cut back inside and shot into the net.

Defender Ross Pllu and Daley-Smith linked up early in the second half to create a scoring opportunity for Fenton, and the pacy forward made no mistake to end Phoenix’s hope of a comeback.

Woodall was once again the creatrive force behind the next goal, his approach play allowing Joseph Chapman to side-foot the ball adeptly into the net.

Captain Woodall then added a fourth, winning the ball in midfield and dribbling past two Phoenix defenders before finishing neatly.

Man of the match Fenton completed his hat-trick after a surging run from his own penalty box.
