Scarborough Athletic boss has blamed a lack of discipline for his side’s failure to push their way into the Evo-Stik South play-offs this season.
Boro have collected a total of 53 bookings and 10 red cards this season in league matches, a stat boss Funk is less than happy with.
“We have just had too many cards and too many sendings off this season,” said Funk.
“Next season this just won’t be tolerated.
“Maybe a quarter of these bookings could be justified, the rest were bad. You can dress players down, but next season things will change.
“If you add up how many points we have lost because of our discipline then it frustrates me. We would comfortably be in a play-off place.
“We will eradicate poor discipline with a strict regime. If people don’t adhere to it then they will be on their way.”
