Sometimes you get a little caught up in the emotion after a game, so I would like to apologise for not mentioning something in my interview on Saturday.
When things don’t go quite right after a game you forget the important things, such as the massive achievement that Ryan Blott managed on Saturday when scoring his 200th goal for the club.
I am delighted for Ryan because he has been such a loyal lad for Scarborough Athletic.
You get players that score a few goals at one club, then move on and score a few more for different clubs.
But I think it is amazing that Ryan has gone on to show that much commitment and score that many for our club.
Ryan is a fantastic player and a fantastic lad.
He hasn’t had the easiest of seasons this term, but he has stuck with it and he is getting his reward.
He was brought into the club by Brian and Darren France and he proved himself as a prolific scorer at NCEL level. Now he is proving himself at the national levels.
Since I arrived at the club he has been a delight to work with. He doesn’t say a lot, he just gets on with his business and does it very well.
This season he has struck up a fantastic partnership with our new signing Gary Bradshaw.
There is a bond off the field between the lads and you can see that in the link-up play when they are on the pitch because of that.
Hopefully that will continue and the pair of them will go on to give us plenty more amazing moments in the future.
The delight of it all is the fact that Ryan is still a young lad and he is learning his trade in the game.
He can still pick up a lot from Gary, who has the experience to help him progress even further as a player.
