SCARBOROUGH Athletic could be set to make their second signing in a week in time for tonight’s NCEL Premier game at Parkgate.

Boss Rudy Funk was today talking to midfielder Luke Fletcher, who turned out for Parkgate against Boro on the opening day of the season.

If a deal is completed for Fletcher, who currently turns out for Staveley, then he could join new boy Nick McNamara and the other Boro players on the coach to this evening’s clash.

Boss Funk said: “The seven days have been served so I will be talking to Luke.

“He is a great player, who turned out against us in the first game of the season.”

“If it comes off it comes off, if it doesn’t then we move on.”

Funk, who will once again have a full compliment of players travelling to the game, is quick to play down any talk of a revenge mission after the FA Vase defeat at Parkgate last month.

He added: “We will be taking everyone over there and they’ll all be involved in the warm-up.

“A lot of people are talking about the FA Vase game, but I don’t look back, I only look forwards. Looking forwards things are looking very good.

“I can’t wait to seeing how the lads play and behave in the game, and I will be pleased to be a part of it.

“We are in a fantastic spell at the moment, but there could be a bad spell around the corner. We are only human.

“I am working with Darren France and Denny Ingram to make sure we are not too over-confident.”
