The Hull City FC Development Centre has enjoyed a great first year running in Scarborough with Billy Leech, Charlie Silk and Jack Grimwood being signed on by the Championship club’s academy.

Development Centre head coach Nigel Carson is delighted with the immediate success the centre has enjoyed.
He said: “We’ve had some great kids through the centre in this first year.
“We have just eight places in each age group from under-eights to under-11s and all 32 of the lads have impressed us.
“We sent eight of them to Hull City on trial and it’s great that three of them have signed forms with them and the other five did well too.
“The boys have benefited from training indoors in groups of no more than 16 with two level three coaches in myself and Luke Tinker coaching them together.
“We will be sending other boys to Hull soon and have places to fill at our centre now that Charlie, Jack and Billy have signed for Hull City and eight of the other boys have signed for Scarborough Athletic and Scarborough and District Schools FA.
“The great thing about this centre is that Hull City support Scarborough Athletic Juniors and Scarborough and District Schools FA, so if the kids don’t make it into Hull City’s Academ,y then there is a pathway into those teams to ensure the boys still have a very good standard of football to go into.”
The centre, which runs on Monday nights at Graham Lower School, is funded by the club so there is no charge for the kids to attend.
There are no trials so Carson and Tinker try and get out and watch all the boys who are recommended to them.
Coaches of teams can email martin.dunn@hulltigers.com with recommendations of players that they’d like to be watched with a view to joining up with the centre’s teams.
